To successfully apply eyelash extensions, it is crucial to follow several essential steps to ensure the session goes smoothly and your client is satisfied.
Eyelash preparation
Before applying your lashes, clean your client's natural lashes with a specially formulated lash shampoo. Use a brush for a deep clean, then rinse with a cotton pad soaked in water. Dry the lashes using a cotton pad sandwich technique to remove any remaining dirt. Next, apply isolation patches to separate the upper lashes from the lower lashes, and perfect the isolation with micropore if necessary.

Eyelash mapping
Mapping is an essential step for a harmonious application. A classic mapping style, such as the "squirrel" style, starts with the smallest lengths at the inner corner of the eye (8 mm), then gradually progresses (9, 10, 11, 12, 13 mm) before descending (12, 11, 10 mm). This type of mapping gives a lifting effect and adapts well to many eye shapes.
Choice of extensions
For a natural look, opt for eyelash extensions with a thickness of 0.15 mm and a CC curl. A mixed palette containing varying lengths (from 7 to 13 mm) is ideal. Use two tweezers: one to isolate the natural lashes and the other to pick up the extensions. Hold the isolating tweezers in your non-dominant hand and the picking tweezers in your dominant hand.
Installation of extensions
- Isolation : Isolate a natural lash using the isolation tweezers.
- Extension Preparation : Select an extension of the appropriate length, gently dip it into the eyelash extension glue , avoiding excessive glue buildup.
- Application : Place the extension approximately 1 to 2 mm from the eyelid without touching the skin. Ensure the extension is straight and respect the established mapping.
- Spacing : Be careful not to glue the extensions too close together to prevent them from sticking together. Work alternately on both eyes for optimal drying and a seamless appearance.
Eyelash direction
Correct direction is crucial for a seamless and natural look. Rather than following the direction of your natural lashes if they are skewed, position the extensions straight and aligned to ensure a seamless application.
Cleaning the clamps
Keeping your tweezers clean is essential to prevent lashes from sticking to the tools. Use an alcohol-soaked cotton ball to regularly clean the tweezers during application and remove any glue residue.
