The different products in the kit and how they work
A browlift kit includes several essential products, each with a specific role to achieve restructured, disciplined, and long-lasting brows. Here's an overview of the main products you'll find in a kit and how they work.
Permanent lotion
- This is the first chemical step in the process. This lotion temporarily breaks down the natural structure of the eyebrow hairs, making them malleable and setting them in the desired direction.
- It must be applied evenly to ensure optimal penetration.
Fixing lotion
- This second lotion restructures and fixes the new direction of the hairs, guaranteeing a long-lasting result.
Nourishing or moisturizing lotion
- After the chemical steps, this lotion nourishes and protects the eyebrows by forming a protective barrier. It also improves their shine and flexibility. Its finish may be slightly oily at the end of the treatment, which is completely normal. This disappears completely after the first eyebrow cleansing.
Water-soluble glue (optional)
- This glue is optional , but recommended for clients with coarse or unruly hair.
- It helps hold the eyebrows in place before applying lotions in order to better structure the desired shape.
- Application : It is important to apply sparingly and avoid thick layers, as over-application could prevent the perming lotion from penetrating the hairs well.
Microbrushes and microswabs
- These small accessories are used to apply lotions precisely and avoid any overflow.
- They allow you to work your eyebrows hair by hair for optimal results.
Y-brushes and bottle brushes
- Y-brushes and spoolies help distribute lotions evenly and brush brows throughout the process.
- They help achieve an even application and ensure all hairs are aligned.
Exposure times to be respected
Respecting the application times is essential to ensure a successful browlift and maintain the health of your natural brows. Times may vary slightly depending on the products used, hair thickness, and specific manufacturer recommendations. Here are the times to follow for the Maison Regard kit at each stage:
1. Permanent Lotion
- Recommended exposure time : Between 5 and 7 minutes .
- Caution : Never exceed the maximum time indicated on the product instructions to avoid weakening or damaging the eyebrow hairs.
2. Setting lotion
- Recommended exposure time : Between 5 and 7 minutes .
- Caution : The application time should be similar to that of the perming lotion to ensure optimal fixation of the new direction of the eyebrows.
3. Nourishing lotion
- Recommended exposure time : Up to 24 hours .
- Purpose : This step nourishes and revitalizes eyebrows after chemical treatment. Although this lotion does not require a specific application time, it is recommended to leave it on for at least a few minutes for best results.
Tips for managing exposure times
- Use a timer : This ensures optimal accuracy for each step.
- Evaluate the eyebrows beforehand : Identifying the nature of the hairs is essential to adjust the application time.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions : Here we provide the application times for the Maison Regard kit, but times may vary from one brand to another. Always consult the instructions before starting.
Contraindications to the kit
Although browlifts are a safe technique when performed correctly, there are some contraindications to consider. In some situations, it is necessary to postpone or avoid the procedure to ensure the client's safety and comfort.
1. Skin allergies or sensitivity
- Clients with sensitive skin or a history of allergies to cosmetic products must perform an allergy test on the crook of the elbow 48 hours before the service.
- If an allergic reaction is suspected or confirmed, the browlift should not be performed.
2. Skin conditions or infections in the eyebrow area
- Any skin condition in the eyebrow area, such as eczema, dermatitis, a cut or irritation, is an immediate contraindication .
- The service should be postponed until complete recovery to avoid any worsening.
3. Fragile or damaged eyebrows
- If your eyebrow hairs are thin, brittle, or unhealthy, a browlift may further weaken them.
- It is advisable to wait for the eyebrows to grow back before carrying out the service and, if necessary, recommend a nourishing treatment to strengthen the hairs.
4. Client who has recently had a browlift
- If the client has already had a browlift within the last 6 weeks, it is not recommended to have another one , even if the previous one did not work well.
- Applying chemicals too closely together can weaken, dry out, or break eyebrow hairs. It's best to wait at least 6 weeks, or even 8 weeks, before reapplying.
5. Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Although no studies prove a direct danger, some pregnant or breastfeeding customers prefer to avoid chemicals as a precaution.
- It is important to inform them about the components of the products and give them the freedom to choose.
6. Recent surgery or treatment around the eyebrows
- Clients who have recently had surgery, peeling, microneedling, or injections in the brow area should wait until the area is completely healed before having a browlift.
7. Irritated or damaged skin around the eyebrows
- If the client has redness, scratches, sunburn or inflammation on the skin around the eyebrows, it is best to postpone the service.
General precautions:
- Evaluate skin and eyebrows before service to ensure they are healthy.
- Ask the client questions about her medical history and any allergic reactions.
- If in doubt about a specific condition , it is recommended to seek medical advice before proceeding with a browlift.
By respecting these contraindications, you guarantee a safe and effective service, while protecting the health and well-being of your clients.

Before the service
Ask your client questions: Pregnancy, hormonal changes, medications, skin conditions, and if eyebrows have already been treated.
During the service
Make a precise diagnosis of your client's eyebrows. Check the health of the natural hairs. Check whether the hairs are fine, normal, or thick, to adjust the application times for each product.
After the performance
Explain to your client the instructions to follow for taking care of her browlift at home.
